DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE:

This course is designed to explore respectful, interesting and innovative approaches to the classroom environment in early learning classrooms. Participants will discuss early learning physical environments, approaches to classroom routines and opportunities for documenting learning. Focusing on student-initiated and student-led learning, that is fuelled by choice and urging independence which can have implications for how teachers set up an early learning environment. Participants will draw from popular and novel perspectives on how environments (both the physical space and the intention behind the curation of materials and tools) can shape the learning trajectory of young students.

Participants will…

  • Understand how the classroom environment can influence independence, agency and inquiry

  • Understand how visible chronicling and documenting can enhance learning

  • Understand how provocations and invitations are embedded in early learning environments

 

 

COMPLETION

 

Although there are no specified due dates along the way, you have a total of 3 months to complete this course. You may expect about 20-25 hours of combined total engagement time throughout this professional learning course. When you complete the course, you’ll receive an email with a link to download your Record of Completion within 1 week of course completion.
